We have 1. Vellore place in Vellore District which was part of North Arcot and 2. Velur in Namakkal District both are called 'Velur' in Tamil. So To differentiate Velur from Vellore, Velur people called this place as Paramathi Velur by adding nearby town Paramathi. So this twin city Paramathi Velur mention RayaVelur in Tamil for Vellore. When this part is divided as new Taluk, Taluk office came in between Paramathi and Velur to satisfy both towns.
When we say Paramathi Velur- that is nothing but Velur in Namakkal Dist, ParamathiVelur Taluk.
This town is located in South edge of Namakkal Dist and Bordering Karur District. In and around of Velur is filled with Agricultural population.
