What's your problem sajaypal?
[edit]Chandelas Chahamanas war Mohammad asfaq (talk) 17:59, 26 April 2022 (UTC)
- What do you mean ? Sajaypal007 (talk) 14:22, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Mohammad asfaq: Please explain your changes on talk page, your content addition seems troublesome in light of historical facts. None of the reliable secondary source which I came across in 20 years ever mentions that Prithviraja-III was defeated by Chandela king Parmaradi. Sources presented by you are not verifiable and at best are not reliable history related sources. Please, take a look at Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources (history) as well. Discuss before editing
[edit]@Mohammad asfaq: Since your account is blocked for 3 days (72 hours) for disruptive editing, Special:MobileDiff/1086525425. I took the page to last clean version before contentious edit(s) started by you and numerous other editors. After your block expires, Please get yourself familiar with rules & regulation of Wikipedia & discuss the matter along with your sources (Make sure to add verifiable & scholarly sources) on related talk pages to gain a long term consensus for your edits instead of reverting again & again with deceptive edit summaries; same goes for other articles like Chandelas of Jejakabhukti on their respective talk pages, Thanks. Regarding too much focus on Chahamana invasion and that too from bardic tales
[edit]The page is of Chandela ruler Parmardi, while a significant portion of the page is filled with a single event i.e. Chahamana invasion, which by the way didn't have long term consequences as Parmardi regained the throne just a couple of years after the invasion. Now invasion was a reality proved by different sources, but the long description of this war which is taken from bardic poem, and not supported by other evidence is not necessarily needed on this article in my opinion. @Packer&Tracker: you are active on this topic and can suggest, if the said portion to be clipped either to complete remove the bardic description of war or to succinctly conclude it in 2-3 lines. And with other portion the Chahamana invasion will have a fair share of the article and will not look like it has been given undue weightage. Sajaypal007 (talk) 18:45, 17 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Sajaypal007: I agree there is certainly WP:Undue weightage to unreliable poems like Alha Kand, Parmardi Raso etc, which are full of legends. While, it's true that Paramardi recovered his strongholds soon after Prithviraja's invasion but still this invasion is quite significant in context of both Chandelas and Chauhans as it laid the base for the Mu'izz al-Din Muhammad ibn Sam (who conquered Lahore, Sialkot, Peshwar and entire belt of northwest & created a excellent base) to swept these kingdoms within a decade or so.
- This page is vandalised several times by plethora of disrupted editors (blocked now); who must have contributed in adding bardic tales. It's better to briefly mention that the Chauhan-Chandel struggle is part of several legendary accounts which are historically inaccurate and aims to glorify either of the two.
