Incorrect article title.
[edit]The title of this article needs to be changed from "Pantherophis vulpina" to "Pantherophis vulpinus". The genus Elaphe is feminine, but the genus Pantherophis is masculine. Therefore, when this species was moved from the former to the latter, the specific name changed from vulpina (fem.) to vulpinus (masc.). I would make the correction myself, except I don't know how. Perhaps someone, with better computer skills than I, could do so. Thank you. Lyttle-Wight (talk) 00:56, 23 May 2014 (UTC)

Merger proposal
[edit]I propose merging Pantherophis gloydi into Pantherophis vulpinus. The scientific names are synonyms according to GBIF. 108.18.207.147 (talk) 12:55, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, I agree. Do merge “gloydi” into “vulpinus”. Nomenclature has been stable since Crother et al. (2011). See also Powell, Conant & Collins (2016) and Reptile Database. Lyttle-Wight (talk) 00:27, 3 August 2023 (UTC)
- Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 10:46, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
