Decidedly NOT in Strathcona
[edit]The Princess Theatre was in Strathcona, at Gore & Pender, but the Pantages/Beacon is at 144-156 East Hastings which is now the Downtown Eastside and has NEVER been part of Strathcona (though it was a core component of what was known as "the Great White Way"). I gather that the term "Strathcona" may have been used in some modern press copy to avoid teh bad. p.r. of being in the Downtown Eastside....a term which I've never liked and maybe would be better as "Old Downtown" or some such....Skookum1 (talk) 18:10, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
- Ahh yes, indeed it is. Thanks for correcting that. As I recall now I think it was from a Province newspaper article that I read it was in Strathcona. I've always thought that the Downtown Eastside was a part of Strathcona, or rather Strathcona lies within the Downtown Eastside.. whichever.. anyway I suspect you're about to tell me that's not entirely accurate. ;) Ϫ 23:25, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
