[edit]You've got to be kidding... the Pamunkey tribe has existed for 10-12 thousand years?? Thats most of the time that humans have even been in the Americas. The Pamunkey's ancestors were here that long and probably more, but I very much doubt that as a self-recognized Pamunkey nation they existed anywhere near that long. Murple 16:33, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit]I will be removing the photo of Mr. Krigsvold as it adds nothing to the article. Perhaps consider adding a tribal member in traditional garb?68.194.111.216 22:22, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
POV and tone
[edit]The article reads in part like a school paper, and wanders too much in its approach. Needs to be reworked to be more succinct, or better identify historic sections and relation to current members of the tribe. It also seems one-sided. At the very least, it needs sourcing of unsupported statements.--Parkwells (talk) 16:36, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
I recently added a lot of information to this article as well as added citations where they were needed for things already in the article, if I could find them. I'm sure it might still need some copy editing, which I have not done much of yet. I figure another set of eyes may be best for that anyway. In my additions and edits I have tried to make the article more neutral as well. I'm sure the article still needs some improvement, but the tag about neutrality may be able to be removed at this point, though I will not do so myself.Sarah1607 (talk) 17:17, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
- Good additions; it's much more thorough now.--Parkwells (talk) 23:56, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! I noticed there were a lot of issues with the article so I made it a project to add to it and do a major clean up. And then I figured I'd rely on others to make things more concise and add or clean up more. Thanks for making what I added more concise, I know I can be too wordy at times. I think the article looks even better now.Sarah1607 (talk) 02:50, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
This page is biased
[edit]The Pamunkey's history is important because of thier interaction with the colonists only in the context of a colonial history course. Their history is important because it contributes to our understanding of the world, the way any other history does. What if I want to know about the Pamunkey's before the colonists ever arrived? Is that not "important?" Please get rid of the eurocentricity. It's too much.

- Then we have to either go to Virginia and ask them which would be called WP:OR and excluded from the encyclopedia, or find an archeological paper about them. i.e. diggs at Werowocomoco The ancient Capital of the Powhatan (A polity which was populated by the Pamunkey + a number of others.)--71.239.120.235 (talk) 21:06, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- I don't find such issues in the current version. Can someone that has the above concerns of APenniman or APenniman themselves make an assessment of the article at its current state? It seems to me that the article very broadly covers its subject. --Divide et Impera (talk) 14:12, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

To add to article
[edit]To add to this article: mention of the Pamunkey's role in the naming of 486958 Arrokoth. 173.88.246.138 (talk) 23:34, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
Bad grammar
[edit]"For example, during the late 1800s John Howell as trying to build an Indian only school for Pamunkeys living in New Kent. " Should "as" be "saw" or "was"? And shouldn't it be "Indian-only"(i.e., with a hyphen)? Kdammers (talk) 23:42, 1 January 2023 (UTC)
