References needed?
[edit]I've removed the ref improve tag on this article. As a list, all of the names are verified by the official website. For the most part, each name on the list has an article supporting it. For the non-article names, they are not redlinked. But that should not discourage editors. E.g., the list is tagged as dynamic, so improving it by adding names as people are memorialized and as articles are developed will serve WP and readers. --S. Rich (talk) 03:52, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
adding names -- listing
[edit]The following is a listing of 130 "non-notable" names from the official Walk of Stars listing, of people who do not have WP articles. Rather than redlink the names in the article text, I thought providing them here would be of assistance. Realizing that many of the people are of strictly local interest -- for example, LG's Steakhouse has wonderful steaks, but probably won't reach WP:N -- so I doubt that all of them can be added. (We can add either because an article is created or because references are provided to provide sufficient WP:V. In any event, as names are added to the article, we (I and any other editor who contributed) can use strikeout typeface to mark off names added. I thank you for your assistance in finding WP:RS to expand the article will be appreciated:

- Well, the last of the names are listed on the article, even if they can use improvement in terms of verification. (So I tagged the list as complete.) Those that do need more V are labled as such. In any event, editors are welcome, free, and invited to improve the references.--S. Rich (talk) 22:39, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
Clark Howard?
[edit]The Clark Howard mentioned here -- Clark Howard -- does not seem to have any connection to Palm Springs. WP:RS is needed. Until then the entry is obscured with an editor comment. --S. Rich (talk) 23:45, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
- Name is relinked, with a disambig needed tag added.--S. Rich (talk) 19:52, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Notability of persons listed criteria -- update
[edit]I've shepherd this list along over the years in an effort to keep the "notable residents of Palm Springs" article to a reasonable size. Yesterday the Desert Sun had an article about the Walk of Stars sponsors and city deciding to review the criteria for Star emplacement. (I will post the article into the list as a reference "eventually".) As of 2017, some 400+ people have been added to the Walk, and the Desert Sun article mentions how the '"come up with $10k gets a star" criteria' is the norm. (And I've noticed this too.) With these factors in mind, I'm culling the list IAW WP:WTAF advice. At the same time, persons with WP notability potentia (such are early pioneers) are simply commented out in the list. – S.
