Controversy
[edit]As you'll notice from my edit description, I am simply stunned that the 2005 graduation ceremony venue controversy was not so much as referenced. It made numerous news programs in the area, and was a rather intense controversy; the judicial decision regarding which, had ramifications for the entire school district. - OK, that whole section was removed, apparently becaues no one bothered to source it. I have already found a source or so online. Because I don't want the section deleted or to lose my research place but don't have the time to sort through them as I have to leave work now, here they are:
Attempted cleanup
[edit]I tried to cleanup the controversy references & confined it to one section vs. three. I also added some background history to it: I do remember seeing library books stamped as Southwest, and I could use some help verifying if Stone was forcibly segregated or not. Rivalry
[edit]Contrary to the article, Palm Bay's main rival is not [[Melbourne High School]. It is Bayside High School (Palm Bay, Florida). Before the 2010 Palm Bay - Bayside football game, Palm Bay had a day-long pep rally, including a dunk-the-bear booth, and Bayside had a pep rally, where they made a dressed-up pirate "walk the plank". Local newspaper Florida Today, is beginning to recognize this rivalry. http://www.floridatoday.com/content/blogs/hssports/2009/11/bayside-palm-bay-football-game.shtml However, neither school has as big of a traditional rivalry with Mel High, with such pre-game gype.
- At this point, it would need a reliable reference either way. School website proclaiming one of the other a main rival would be useful. I suspect Melbourne's already has mentioned Palm Bay. But this can be one-way. Bayside is pretty new. I wonder. Student7 (talk) 20:28, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
