Yes, these characters do appear at the end of the word Palestine. It may just be my browser but they currently appear at the begining of the name in the infobox. Also, what do they mean? They also appear after Palestine on the coins but I've never seen any translation or explanation.

- Amazing what you can find in Wikipedia. The answer is in Land of Israel#The Land of Israel and the State of Israel. Now we just need to sort out the letter ordering, which works fine in the main text but messes up in the infobox. I guess it's the brackets?

- I believe it has to do with IE not displaying mixture of right-to-left language and L2R language together. It looks fine on Firefox (although I have no idea what it says). --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 08:00, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Palestine 02.gif
Image:Palestine 02.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:03, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

lira as the common Arabic and Hebrew name for the Palestine pound
Finding a proper reference to the above statement isn't so easy. The best is to show frontpages of newspapers published in Arabic and Hebrew at that time, but these are still copyrighted. For the time being, I have found this article in Hebrew by Haim Arlosoroff, in which he quotes prices in lirot Eretz-Yisraeliot (i.e. Palestine pounds), mils and lirot shterling (i.e. pound sterling). Contradiction: Jordanian dinar
- This article: Jordanian dinar replaced Palestine pound in 1946
- Jordanian dinar: 1949

Re-insert Diaries of Wasif Jawhariyyeh quote
I reinserted quote from Diaries of Wasif Jawhariyyeh, which was removed in 2015, with the more accurate details of Hebrew inscription for Alef Yud above it. The quote adds to the article nice coloring of currency technicalities and sense of the historical atmosphere.

1917 coin
I have a Palestinian 10 milliemes but its from before 1927 its actually from 1917 why is this not listed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 101.165.25.124 (talk) 09:27, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
- Does it actually say "Palestine" on it? It could be an Egyptian 10 milliemes coin, which was used in Palestine from the British occupation. Zerotalk 11:10, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
