Pils

I'm an amateur beer taster living in The Netherlands. I was under the impression that paler lager beer was actually first developed in Pilzn, in the Czech Republic. Besides a visit to the Urquell brewery in Pilzn I have no proof that this is actually true, though.

However, in a variety of countries including Germany, The Netherlands and Belgium pale ale is referred to as 'Pils'. At the same time, reference to 'pilsener' is common throughout the world. Pilzn is apparently engrained in the pale lager tradition.

I suggest changing the article to include this alternative story. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Boszkie (talkcontribs) 20:22, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

I'm not sure what you are suggesting - I think the history and development of pale lager is explained quite well in the article, including the involvement of Pilzn. There is a separate article on Pilsener, which gives closer details on the pale lager that developed there, along with an article on Dortmunder Export, another pale lager. This is explained within the pale lager article, along with links to the related articles. SilkTork *YES! 22:25, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

English style

I wanted to point out that, given the recent edits changing all spelling to commonwealth/British style spelling, that because this is an English-style-neutral article, and because the first version was written in American English, the proper style is American English. Please refrain from changing to British style unnecessarily. I'm not going to change them back right now, although I, or someone else, may do so in the future. Corona

I've changed "Corona" back to "Spezial" - what it was before being vandalised. The rest of the sentnce - about being brewed in Southern Germany and Austria - is nonsensical otherwise.83.161.192.227 (talk) 17:28, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
