Editing and Neo-Pactio
[edit]Now, how do I say this? While editing and improving the Negima-related articles was one of my projects, it wasn't a priority, until recently, when some of them where deleted... I'm trying to make the others better, to save them from the same fate, and even, maybe, recover the deleted ones...
But this one is troublesome... I've removed some trivia and original research in the first paragraphs, made things clearer, and added some references, but it's the "Neo-Pactio" session that's bugging me... I mean, it's about the mechanics of a spin-off anime that ended long ago, and takes more space than the manga pactio! I was going to delete the entire session and put the relevant informations in the "Manga Pacio vs. Alternated Media", but I was afraid that that would be considered vandalism, so... What do you guys think? Should the "Neo-Pactio" session be deleted or should it stay? But, even if it stays, it still needs much improvement.
That being said, there is still work to be done: Some references are still lacking (I didn't have the time to search all the volumes), and it would be good if a native-English-speaking person reviewed my text...
That's it for now.--Lord Metatron (talk) 04:38, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
- Unfortunately for this article, the section about the Neo-Pactio should stay because it is a major factor of Negima!?. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 04:58, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
- But that's exactly what I'm talking about: Both anime series (And the Neo-Pactio is only part of [i]one[/i] of them) ended long ago; and most of the Negima fans and those who read the Negima-related articles, follow the manga. I'm not proposing to delete the Neo-Pactio session completely, but to reduce it and maybe put it under the "Manga vs. Alternate Media". Also, there's no need to detail the girls individual anime Pactios - this should be done in the Negima Wiki.

Albireo's Pactio
[edit]I hope it's alright, but I also added a certain thing about Albireo's Pactio number, 1001 (MI). It's an interesting thing to wonder about, and I'm sure Ken Akamatsu put it in there for some reason, but so far the reason is unknown. CrazyNekoRun 07:37, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Since we're on the subject, I have one source that claims that in the recent(at the time of this typing) chapter 163, Alberio has multiple pactios. I would like to verify this, as it does say a bit about Pactios in general.
My original rejection of the idea that Alberio had a pactio with Nagi was Mana's Pactio. As I mentioned before, Nagi's past self in Alberio's artifact assumed that he would be dead by the time Negi saw the recording. If Pactios become inert with the death of the mage (Alberio uses it as proof that Nagi is alive), Nagi would not want to leave a message/will on something that would not be usable by the time it was needed. If Alberio has several pactios, it would certainly go a long way to keeping the message intact.
But whether he does or not, that makes a pretty big revelation about the nature of the artifacts. Unless Alberio has an entire library of bio libraries, he only has one artifact for all those Pactios. This would suggest that, aside from the initial bestowing and summoning, the Artifact is semi-independent of the pactio itself. If Alberio has multiple Pactios but only one artifact, that would mean that the pactio mostly allows easy summoning of the artifact.
If he only has the one, then the use of the Artifact is completely independent of the pactio once it is given. This would mean that the death of the Magister Magi only derives the Ministra of the usual power boost and the ability to stow and summon the artifact at will. This would explain why Nagi had his partner use the artifact, as it would work even after he was gone. It would also suggest that Mana's pistols are her artifact, and not just replicas.
If KFC has multiple pactios, the same may still apply, but it also presumes that a person can have multiple temporary(maybe even permanent) Pactios on the Ministra's side as well as the magisters. But it also assumes that a Ministra only gets one artifact. SAMAS 16:38, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- Addendum: Okay, so apparently all those other Pactio cards (about 10) are Dead Pactios like Mana's. They all look exactly like his active one, but without all the books surrounding him. i.e.: he only has the book that's in his hand. They also seem to have different (smaller) numbers than his active one, which would imply that he has such a large number because he's had so many Pactios in sequence. SAMAS 23:43, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- Chapter 163 shows around 13-14 'dead' cards, while ch169 would suggest that Al is a lot older than he looks, theres nothing to suggest that those dead cards are actually real cards. Also being numbered MI (1001) could just mean that he was the first Pactio of the thousand master (M(1000)) =D Other than Negi's special seating case, theres no apparent reasoning for the top left number anywhere... Pactio pics
[edit]For some reason I'm thinking of maybe uploading pics of Pactio, at least the six created by Akamatsu in use in the manga (Asuna, Nodoka, Setsuna, Konoka, Yue, Chisame), perhaps with examples of a couple of "Negima!" TV Pactio and Neo-Pactio. However, I'm a bit unsure on the usage of copyrights in this matter considering I don't want to break any laws. Should we do this or just not chance it? -StrangerAtaru 02:01, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
- The ones marked sample may be alright to use, I think. --Aldis90
- Are the sample ones right to use though? I rather try without them, but maybe I'll see what happens if I put those ones up. -StrangerAtaru 22:32, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
"Official Pactio". I'm noticing all the subtexts of the images have that label. Anyone care to specify on that? KyuuA4 06:29, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- Official Pactio as I put them on the page are those that have already been introduced in the manga as well as had a release in Japan. Since six of the seven current Pactio girls are using the same Pactio that was already created by Akamatsu either while or prior to appearing in the manga, they are the official Pactio. -StrangerAtaru 13:32, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- Neo-Pactio Cards are also official. Looking at E-Bay, they're just as expensive. KyuuA4 00:13, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Let's not over-do it. Also, it'll be nice to mix-it up with the Original Pactio Cards and Neo-Pactio Cards. KyuuA4 00:11, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Don't want to overdo it but do want a good representation. I was actually thinking of doing a Neo-Pactio for Chao but don't know which form (whether to wait for an Armor release or just use Suka or Cosplay)...maybe a couple "failed" manga cards too but so far I don't want to put up anything that hasn't shown up in continuity. (AKA: none of the "official" cards by Akamatsu that haven't shown in the manga) -StrangerAtaru 00:21, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Use SPARINGLY. We don't need every character to have a Pactio image card. Doing so renders it all cluttered. KyuuA4 21:48, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
- Personally wish we could get rid of everything outside official Akamatsu cards (and maybe a couple Neo-Pactio) but I didn't put it up so I don't know how people would feel. -StrangerAtaru 23:32, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Quick comment: Wiki editors are currently doing a crackdown of copywritten images, so I decided to eliminate all Pactio cards on this site except those confirmed by the manga. (thus, Asuna, Konoka, Nodoka, Setsua, Yue, Chisame and Mana's images will remain) If someone can get an image, either of the card or of the Pactio forms for the remaining manga girls (Haruna and Misora mostly, but maybe Albireo or Mei could be used as well), then I think those would fit this page without going over the line. -StrangerAtaru 14:12, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
N!?-Ku Fei
[edit]Considdering that Ku Fei was drunk the entire time she was in her cosplay form, her cosplay form must be that of a Suiken user. For those who have not watched/read "Naruto", Suiken is a state some fighters laps into when drunk. While the fighter becomes unpridictble, more acurate and very flexible, the fighter also becomes delirius, violint and often has trouble telling friend from fooh.
- Already noted that: the "drunken fist" link leads to the suiken article. -StrangerAtaru 15:38, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Permanent Contract prevents Temporary Contracts?
[edit]"Presumably, it is also impossible to form a Temporary Contract once a Permanent Contract has been formed."
Is there any reason to think this, or is the editor just speculating? As far as I can recall, nothing at all has been said in the manga to indicate what happens to existing temporary contracts, or ability to create new ones, in the face of a permanent contract.
If it's pure speculation, it should just be deleted. 70.231.128.246 04:45, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
Suka Items
[edit]Someone recently added in Satsuki's Suka card the cookie she holds. I was just wondering whether we should add some of the other "artifacts" in the Suka cards. (like Yuna's piece of seaweed, Nodoka's ball, Eva's giant carrot plushie, etc.) -StrangerAtaru 13:24, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
Misora's Pactio
[edit]"Her Pactio is with Cocone, not Negi, yet her card shows the Roman Numeral 9, her seat number, which is what Negi's Pactio's show."
Where the smeg did that information come from as that's the first I've heard of it? 32.97.110.142 (talk) 10:23, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
- The back cover of vol. 13 shows Misora's Pactio card, which specifically shows the number "9" on it. As for the Cocone part, I am not too sure: the Pactio could be with Shakti but I think someone else verified it was Cocone. -StrangerAtaru (talk) 14:14, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Chachamaru Pactio
[edit]"Although she does not have an official card, she is the Ministra Magi for Evangeline."
Bah! Chachazero serves the role Ministra Magi and appears to have an actual artifact, to say nothing of having been with Eva for possibly hundreds of years. Chachamaru is only 2.5 years old and to date, I've seen no evidence to support the claim that she's anything more than a bond servant. 32.97.110.142 (talk) 10:23, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
It's pretty much cannon considering in the current issues, Chachamaru is pondering whether or not she'd be able to do a pactio.PactioWillP (talk)
