I am concerned about biased assertions in this article. Although I generally agree that the Pacific temperate rain forests have been overlogged, and that Forest Service and provincial policies along with large timber company practices have caused much overlogging, the article is written with too much good guy/bad guy editorializing. Worse, there are few citations to back the assertions made. A more balanced article can still demonstrate the extent of overlogging, while highlighting the more recent policies that attempt to strike a better balance toward preservation and conservation of the extraordinary forests along the northeastern Pacific. (I write this from Seattle, having lived and travelled in south central and southeast Alaska; western British Columbia; and coastal Washington, Oregon, and California.)

This article will get busted for unverifiable bias, but I don't know quite how to do it. So I would encourage a re-write that reads like a typical balanced encyclopedic article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Trobster (talk • contribs) 05:31, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
