Non NPOV

"While the gameplay is simplistic on a certain level, the game is remembered for its unique graphic design, its excellent soundtrack, and its bizarre plot." Genjix 21:44, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Stolen?

It looks to me like the "plot" section of the article may have been stolen from the following site: http://parappa.the.rapper.en.ipaqpda.info/ 70.149.39.200 02:08, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

If you look, at the bottom of the linked page the Wikipedia article is said to be a source. "This page is baseɗ on the copyrighteɗ Wikipeɗia article 'PaRappa the Rapper' it is useɗ unɗer the GNU Free Documentation License." Mga 05:53, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Release Date

I've changed the release date in the article from 1997 to 1996. According to this source, the game was released in December of 1996 in Japan, and then in November of 1997 in the UK and US. [1] --LostLeviathan 20:45, 8 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Replay Mode bug?

Just started playing this game (I have the PAL/Non Platimum version) and I got a cool rating on stage 1 which I kept from the start of lession 1 to the end. Thinking all to be good, I saved and played it on Replay mode only for the game to not go to Cool mode and thus cause the game to end when my "Cool" rap stared.

Anyone notted this in thier games?--Conan-san 13:13, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

Uh... What?

This sentence in the article under "Plot"- "To impress Sunny Funny, PaRappa learns to fight at a kung-fu dojo, takes a driver's education course to get his license, learns the art of flea-market training to raise money for a new car, bakes a seafood cake, uses the bathroom, and finally, performs a hip hop song on stage at a party." - is strange. The "uses the bathroom" part does not grammatically fit in with the rest of the sentence. We use the bathroom for our own personal needs, not to impress somebody. I request for this sentence to be rewritten. Kikiluvscheese 02:57, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Have you ever actually played the game? A whole stage is dedicated to him trying to get into the bathroom because he ate too much cake. --192.197.54.41 (talk) 20:31, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
It's also not "grammatically" wrong. Vael Victus (talk) 15:27, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Wario Ware

What's the Wario Ware stuff doing there? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.173.51.132 (talk) 13:08, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Fixed. Gargomon251 17:18, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Rap Styles

I remember back long ago, a magazine said the game had a different "type" of hip hop for each song. Does anyone know the types, and should we list them in the article if they do? Vael Victus (talk) 15:28, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

I see no mention in this article about the music in general. I remember hearing that the group De La Soul did the writing, though I can't confirm this yet. I would also, just trusting ears alone, say that in the first of the series, MC Lyte is responsible for some voices-including Parappa's. Incidentally, De La Soul does have a video for a song called "I gotta believe" featuring Japanese singer "Double" that is based thematically on the game and as graphics that show the characters and settings from the 2nd game in the series. I'm not sure if this song was only released in Japan ... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 219.39.118.223 (talk) 16:05, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Regarding the spelling of Parappa

According to the packaging and instruction manuals for the PaRappa series, it is spelt as 'PaRappa' with a capital 'R' when referring to the game's title, but the character himself is spelt 'Parappa' with a lower case 'r'. A small point but I thought I'd mention it.

Thank you for posting this; I was beginning to wonder if it was a typo or something. Ninamarmalade (talk) 00:22, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

Reference material

While digging through the online print archive, I located the following preview and news material for this game:

One or more print reviews for this game may also be found in the archive. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 21:58, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

New Seires?

What is this? No sources are sited anywhere and the premise just sounds like the wishful thinking of a fan. I'm pretty sure this is some kind of hoax. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.4.102.176 (talk) 14:02, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

"Believe in Yourself," Bonus Song for PSP version

When I read PaRappa the Rapper#PSP version,I accessed to Famitsu's article (Okuhara, Keisuke (21 April 2008). "Masaya Matsuura: Creator Interview". Famitsu. Archived from the original on 12 May 2008. Retrieved 26 November 2016.) to verification of "Believe in Yourself", bonus track for PSP version.

However, there is no reference of PaRappa the Rapper on the article and I couldn't find anything like on Google/Youtube.

Could anyone verify the bonus track?--リトルスター (talk) 02:24, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

Not ready for GAR

This article is far from GA quality. Gameplay section is completely unsourced, Development is mostly unsourced and lacking some key readily available developer interviews, Reception is lacking in prose, and some of the sources appear unreliable. I'd recommend withdrawing the nomination until these issues are addressed, it doesn't stand a chance at passing in this state. TarkusABtalk 01:19, 6 August 2017 (UTC)

@TarkusAB: Was thinking the same. Will withdraw the nomination. ~ P*h3i (talk to me) 09:23, 6 August 2017 (UTC)
