Confusing

[edit]

This article makes PNG LNG & PNG Gas seem like the same project:

PNG LNG - Hydrocarbons-Technology.com

It makes me think that InterOil, Merrill Lynch Commodities, and Pacific LNG Operations, are the OPERATORS and that ExxonMobil, Oil Search, Santos, AGL, Nippon Oil, and Mineral Resource Development Corporation are the OWNERS.

It is confusing... WikiDon (talk) 09:38, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New name

[edit]

I propose that this article's name be changed to: Liquid Niugini LNG

And, that PNG Gas become PNG LNG.

Thanks. WikiDon (talk) 10:28, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There are different names used by media and even same media sources use names confusingly. PNG LNG has been used for both projects. In general, I have nothing against this proposal if this helps to make these projects better understandable. Or maybe to move this article to Liquid Niugini LNG and to make this page disambiguation page linking both articles?Beagel (talk) 21:27, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would propose using the names the project proponents use. ExxonMobil (and others) used the name PNG Gas to describe the now ceased project to pipe highlands gas to Australia.

The current ExxonMobil project to liquify the gas is PNG LNG

PNG LNG - PNG LNG.com

Liquid Niugini Gas (rather than the recursive Liquid Niugini LNG) is the Interoil Project to utilise the Elk and Antelope fields.
