This service is one of the most popular online PDF services and has been reviewed by notable websites such as Lifehacker [1] and Cnet [2] Dirick (talk) 07:51, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's great. I suggest you link to the reviews, so we can add neutral, cited content to this article. MikZ (talk) 12:51, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This article reads like an advertisement. Info like where the processing is done, and privacy of documents sent to the server, should be added, or the page deleted. TANSTAAFL. 216.106.110.29 (talk) 06:35, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PDFescape malware allegations

[edit]

There have been allegations made that a coin-miner is bundled with the software — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.141.17.247 (talk) 16:43, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have downloaded PDFescape from the official website in February and since then i noticed a process called xbox-service.exe using around 30% of my cpu or more at all times. Malwarebytes recognized this as malware and removed it, since then it stopped using CPU.

Here are a couple of reddit threads of people experiencing the same thing: https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/7s3t29/rundll332exe_using_up_to_20_of_cpu_windows_10/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Malware/comments/82fwdl/warning_pdfescape_contains_malware/

I think this is pretty huge and it should be mentioned in the main wikipedia page for this program. We can't let trusted programs like these randomly start distributing bitcoin miners with no reprecussions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.93.169.234 (talk) 14:29, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
