New image

[edit]

I added a new image of Pomare III, an more accurately dated image than the one that was deleted. I'm not 100% sure that the little boy in Queen Teriitaria's hand was Pomare III; the site doesn't say anything about the picture. Also Martin didn't arrive in Tahiti until after Pomare III's death.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 01:53, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

To explain the removal. The image most likely depicted either an anonymous child or a young Pomare V who was being reared for the throne of Huahine. The current image by Sophia Hoare could either be Pomare III or his nephew Ariʻiaue. KAVEBEAR (talk) 04:52, 6 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Pomare III and Pomare IV

[edit]

It seems a lot of sources call them half-siblings with either one of them assigned to Teriitaria for a mother and then missionary sources call Pomare IV a illegitimate daughter without citing a mother. I don't this is correct is there anything to prove this wrong. I'm not sure if Bertrand De La Ronciere's biography on her discuss this or not. --KAVEBEAR (talk) 07:02, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
