Covalent binding
[edit]Apparently the lesser potency contra oxymorphone is from the hydrazone permanently binding to other targets on the way to the opioid receptors. Some types mentioned as 'covalent bonds' in a similar manner are not in fact so, but are rather mustards which make the drug a part of the cell via alkylation instead of simply binding covalently.
