Eoghan is not a partial anglicisation of Eógan. Eoghan is the modern Irish form, using the modern standard for spelling. This includes both the modern séimhiú (h) and the removal of the redundant síneadh fada (accent) on 'o'. The name as pronounced couldn't map to any English spelling convention. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:8084:6AA1:8280:5C5D:3149:3006:C581 (talk) 17:17, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nonsensical intro

[edit]

How can this name be both a patronymic and derived from the Latinized Greek Eugenius? That makes no sense. - Eponymous-Archon (talk) 21:02, 12 November 2024 (UTC) Eponymous-Archon (talk) 21:02, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
