[edit]Other than the company's website, it was very difficult to find information on this company. I searched several online academic journals(LexisNexis, GaleNet, etc) through my library, and checked Yahoo Finance and Google. I could not find any confirmation of the claim that it is the largest tech. analyst firm outside the US, so I added a citation needed tag to it. If anyone knows more about this company, or can find some good sources outside of the company website, I urge you to expand this page.CharacterZero 03:38, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

History needs some additions. Happy to provide suggestions.
Merger information is out of date: Steve Hotham, previously Managing Director of Ovum, is now CEO of the combined company and is supported by a new management team, consisting of senior directors from both ITM Research and Ovum. The newly merged company will be an important part of Informa’s Business Intelligence division which has also just announced a re-structuring and will see Patrick Martell, formerly of St Ives Group, take over as CEO.
Aneil Rakity has been MD of Ovum since late 2015 https://ovum.informa.com/analysts-and-events/meet-the-team/aneil-rakity Patrick Martell is still CEO of Informa’s Business Intelligence division
The new company has also launched new research products: Digital Media, Music, Telecoms IT, Enterprise Technology, Enterprise Mobility, and Customer Engagement. This page will help regarding our positioning https://ovum.informa.com/who-we-help/how Our Products and Services section of the website is also a useful resource.

As I am an employee of Ovum, I have avoided adding any content which may wikipedias breach terms of service etc. But happy to provide further information which can help to provide a balanced and up to date Wikipedia page for Ovum. Thanks,

Independence Charter
[edit]The independence charter referred to in the first paragraph no longer exists and was probably lost somewhere around the time of the Datamonitor/Informa takeovers.
Ovum's "About Us" page now refers to themselves as "Ovum is a market-leading research and consulting business focused on helping digital service providers and their vendor partners thrive in the connected digital economy."
I have not edited the main article as I am an ex-employee, having left between the Datamonitor and the Informa takeovers.

break
[edit]Hello GamjBtal! I have changed the website information as you asked, but I do not have enough time to fill out the rest. Perhaps Altamel or someone who is able to handle these kinds of requests can finish it. jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk) 02:48, 16 July 2017 (UTC)
update 2020
[edit]This company no longer exists and neither does the brand. I've changed everything to past tense. Much of the copy reads like marketing material and is no longer relevant. This entry really acts as a history of a component of Omdia and to redirect people to the Omdia website. What might be good to add is that many of the analysts working here went on to found other analyst companies, so it was very influential in that way. The entry also doesn't mention its groundbreaking work eg in number portability under David Lewin or UK 3G licences. It should point out that one of the reasons for its growth was that the UK market liberalised early which meant it was able to benefit from the expertise that came out of doing that. eg many of the early gurus at Ovum were ex BT.SandrinaHatman (talk) 14:45, 28 February 2020 (UTC)
