original paper
[edit]although higuchi'88 is published earlier and is the first account for the OE-PCR, ho'89 (pmid: 2744487) reported it independently little later and is much more widely cited. according to the SCI number of citations are 1898 and 5380 repsectively. so i believe ho-89 should be also co-credited for the discovery.--ArazZeynili (talk) 09:46, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Illustration
[edit]Can someone who knows what it represents maybe draw a proper illustration? The MSPaint job is terrible. Inkscape will do it much better; it's free. Office-based Windows users, you might have Visio installed. Why MSPaint, whhhhhhy? GavinZac (talk) 17:49, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
- And it's wrong (it shows primers being extended in both 5' and 3' directions)! I did this myself, back in the day - not sure why I chose MSPaint :). If I ever feel so motivated, I might replace it with something made in Inkscape. My WP days are more or less behind me now, though... ----Seans Potato Business 19:31, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
