Quantum physics application: coherent states
[edit]In quantum optics, coherent states |alpha> are sometimes used as a basis which is said to be overcomplete in contrast to e.g. |X> or |P>. I think this will be a good additional example as well. I don't feel confident enough in my knowledge of formal mathematics to write such a section myself, though, which could be related to other given examples. This is also related to the quantum-mechanical quasiprobability distributions in phase-spase, of which the Wigner function is the most famous. Also here, there is partial knowledge about both X and P, a fourier pair. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 143.169.5.163 (talk) 15:42, 13 April 2017 (UTC)
