Orphaned references in Outline of Apple Inc.
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Outline of Apple Inc.'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 03:02, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
Timeline info: wrong format?
[edit]As per talks (here Talk:Outline of iOS#Merge with Outline of Apple Inc.), should these tables really be on here, as surely aren't right to be on outline pages? Instead, under the Timelines heading should be the links to the table pages (Timeline of Apple Inc. products, Timeline of Apple II family, Timeline of Macintosh models, and any others; are there any?). Remember this is an outline page, bullet pointing the facts and giving links to pages of further interest. The few remaining bits on the Outline of iOS need moving here, before strong consideration of it's subsequent deletion (this page can easily handle iOS topics, with ease). --Jimthing (talk) 01:46, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
Internal apps (eg. SwitchBoard) / software
[edit]After quick search, I found a page that lists some/all of the internal apps that Apple uses (http://theiphonewiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Apple_Internal_Apps ), with the main one being called SwitchBoard (similar to the SpringBoard, apparently — with internal app store Springboard to service users needs). Shouldn't these be added to this page (or else mentioned elsewhere on WP instead?), as even though they are internal, they are not secret (one or more are used by sales staff in Apple Stores), and so are still valid software of the company. I feel they should be mentioned somewhere, so as this is an Outline page, surely it seems reasonable for them to be mentioned here accordingly? Thoughts please. --Jimthing (talk) 03:17, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
AppleConnect
[edit]Another identification service of Apple's, used for various things...also missing from here and/or elsewhere on WP. --Jimthing (talk) 03:53, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
Quick explanation of Wikipedia outlines
[edit]"Outline" is short for "hierarchical outline". There are two types of outlines: sentence outlines (like those you made in school to plan a paper), and topic outlines (like the topical synopses that professors hand out at the beginning of a college course). Outlines on Wikipedia are primarily topic outlines that serve 2 main purposes: they provide taxonomical classification of subjects showing what topics belong to a subject and how they are related to each other (via their placement in the tree structure), and as subject-based tables of contents linked to topics in the encyclopedia. The hierarchy is maintained through the use of heading levels and indented bullets. See Wikipedia:Outlines for a more in-depth explanation. The Transhumanist 23:48, 8 August 2015 (UTC)
