[edit]In the early 1960's, Outboard Marine Corperation manufactured an engine for use in Cushman motor scooters. It was an aluminum, single-cylinder, overhead valve engine that produced nine horsepower. Cushman used it only in their Eagle models, which had a two speed transmission. It was said to drive the Eagle at speeds of around 60 miles per hour. A two cylinder version was also produced for Cushman's three- and four-wheeled industrial vehicles.
Industrial Engineering a.k.a. Pioneer Saws
[edit]After OMC purchased Industrial Engineering chain-saw company, it changed the brand name Industrial Engineering to Pioneer Saws. It did not change the name OMC, or Outboard Marine Corporation in any way. The text has been further clarified. Thanks for your input. It is much appreciated and very much respected. Regards, Ropewalker1, (a former and much dedicated OMC employee of OMC Calhoun and Waukegan)--Ropewalker1 (talk) 04:54, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

"Not sure why it states changed its name to Pioneer Saws - When Out Board Marine Corporation moved to 910 Monaghan Road Peterborough, Ontario K9J 7B6 Canada it was called and known as Outboard Marine Corporation of Canada Ltd., until its closure. The building was then taken over by the Peterborough Canoe Museum. Additionally, OMC of Canada Ltd., continued with its outboard motors such as Johnson and Evinrude at this location. In 1964 Skeeter and the Johnson Skee-Horse AKA Skidoo in Canada was also added}"

Depression
[edit]My mother used to tell us that her family was supported thru the depression by dividends on Outboard Marine stock that their late father had left. I'd be curious to know more about the doings of the company during the 30's. Was it doing better than average? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.71.69.110 (talk) 19:14, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Disaster
[edit]This article is an unmitigated disaster. I would love to have a hand at it but it's going to require a major rewrite to become anything desirable. --WGFinley (talk) 02:54, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
