[edit]Australia tour dates: I have removed the comment that they had played Australia during summer 2010. They are booked to play Australia during it's spring, however this is yet to happen as Australia has different seasons to Europe. We are also yet to see if they will continue on their Australian tour post the loss of their singer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.50.135.208 (talk) 13:02, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Cause of death
[edit]It has been proven that the cause of death was an accidental suicide. The cause of death may even be determined to be accidental or by misadventure: Haddon left no "suicide note"; there were no eye witnesses to the fall/jump. The popular press and msm are free to speculate and suppose that this was suicide - but wp is an encyclopedia not a tabloid newspaper. To claim that "Authorities & reliable sources have confirmed it as suicide" is mistaken: the only authority who can confirm it as suicide is the coroner. At the inquest. Which hasn't happened yet. - Wikipedia relies on reliable secondary sources to obtain its information. All reliable sources at this point are reporting suicide, so at the very least we can conclude that it is strongly suspected. I've put in a compromise that addresses the fact that authorities are treating the death as a jumper suicide. — CIS (talk | stalk) 19:52, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
- According to the flemmish magazine HUMO who interviewed one of the persons who found Haddon, the cause of dead is not jumping from a telecommunications mast. He states that he found Haddon who strangled himself with a belt tied to a fence near a telecommunications mast. Unfortunatly i cannot find a online version of that article for citation.Toams (talk) 23:47, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

- "Accidental suicide"? What utter, oxymoronic nonsense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.90.55.165 (talk) 07:40, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
- OR: I was just talking to someone close to the band and they used the term "hung himself", jumping might well have been involved but might not be the direct cause. A lot of those refs are blogs, not too reliable. Wwwhatsup (talk) 01:07, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
Mistakes
[edit]1. He didn't jumped; he strangled himself. The reason why so many sources supports the first cause of death is a result of the miscommunication of the Belgian Press. The organisation of Pukkelpop was giving only little information and the media published false information. see: http://www.humo.be/tws/deze-week/21190/de-laatste-uren-van-charlie-haddon-22-de-artiest-die-zelfmoord-pleegde-op-pukkelpop.html. This source is reliable; the guy who found Haddon is the boss of a major radio station in Belgium. 2. The article suggests that Haddon took his own life because he injured a girl, that is a very simplistic view. You can at least suggest that there were probably also other reasons involved. The lyrics of their songs are about depression. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.101.73.62 (talk) 22:11, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
