Concerncitizens of apabame appealing to His Majesty (The King of ashanti Kingdom
[edit]Concern Citizen of Ampabame 1 P.O. BOX 656 Kumasi.
His Royal Majesty Otumfour The Asantehene.
Dear His Majesty,
LETTER OF APPEAL
We the concern citizens of Ampabame No. 1 would like to appeal to Otumfour to come to our aid since we cannot get to you (king) personally we are using this media to tell what is happening at Ampabame No 1.
The chief Obrempong Sapa Aduoretuia II has sold about 2000 plots of land without any propose development in the town.
He has sold the plot of land left by the previous chief for the proposed government hospital and playground.
He has sold part of the school’s land to somebody for building.
The town has no K.V.I.P. and has only one borehole which serves about five thousand people.
He refused to give four plot of land to a contractor to tar our township for us.
6. Since he came to the throne he has never settled a dispute between two people.
The inhabitants of the town are not able to buy a plot of land due to it cost i.e. from 30metres to 60metres.
when he gets a land belonging to a particular family of say fifty people, he divides it into three, he take one third to Otumfour and the town, and the remaining he divides it into four and takes three, when challenged he says every land in the town belongs to him and nobody has the right to ague.
He does not hear the concern of the people so to say some chiefs meet all their citizens annually but he has never done that since he took over.
He has retrieved land owned by the people of Bekwamene and the Ampesemakahene and has sold all of them.
He has sold land own by the Krontihene, Akwaamuhene, Gyaasehene, Nifahene, Mmretiam family and those who have not stool the same way as he has been doing.
At some point when he gets to a certain land belonging to a certain family; he does not give some to them at all.
What surprises in this is that when some J.H.S Students completed school last year, this family could not raise the money needed when contacted, he said he has no help for them.
Instead of the chief using the resource available to build or develop our town, he has enriched himself by acquiring two big stores at Adum in Kumasi. His wife goes from Dubai to Korea and to China instead.
The Chief cannot point it out the single project he has initiated or brought to the town. The town is one of the most develop in the region. There is no social amenity in which the town can be proud of. Communal labour is at its poor state because of these reasons.
The concern Citizens wanted to demonstrate against the Chief violently but we thought it wise to report the whole matter to the King of the land (Otumfour) to intervene.
We hope Otumfour will come to our aid.

King not emperor
[edit]This article is completely wrong. There is no "Empire of Ashanti". The head of the Ashanti royal house is called a king, not emperor. And he is not an "absolute monarch"Royalcourtier (talk) 06:31, 16 January 2016 (UTC)
- Agreed. This, and other Asante-related articles, is full of complete fabrications. Someone seems invested in this puffery, so I'm not going to bother engaging in an edit war without going through WP:CONTENTDISPUTE first. --Varavour (talk) 00:45, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
Education
[edit]The king may have attended "LOLOLOLOLOLOLi Wiawso Senior High School". But he cannot have "graduated in Philosophy with a first-class degree and degree of Doctor of Philosophy" (two degrees!) from a High School!Royalcourtier (talk) 06:34, 16 January 2016 (UTC)
