Very fan-like tone ("rapturously received," etc.). Needs a POV overhaul.
No kidding. I like Golijov quite a bit, but "Music has surely not produced sounds like these since the days of Richard Strauss"? Please.
Indeed, the language is erroneously prejudiced.
To agree with the above - Golijov is one of my favorite composers, I get excited about his stuff too, but this article is very poorly written. It reads like a bad review of someone's favorite rock band. A full rewrite seems desirable.
I've taken out some of the more fan-like language - but I agree this needs a more academic rewrite as Golijov is an important composer and this entry does him no justice. I'll do this later when I have time.
It is still very fawning. Also a fan of his music, but the 'Music' section had glowing reviews of every piece individually, basically his own comments on the piece from his website. Also some of that detail, e.g. about Upshaw, was redundant in 2-3 places. I slimmed it down to a more normal 'Works' section, ordered in time. You can see the old buzzy reviews here. --Damorzet (talk) 22:29, 27 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
