Unilateral Action to Change the Status of the Palestinian Territories

[edit]

Article XXXI clause 7 states: "Neither side shall initiate or take any step that will change the status of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip pending the outcome of the permanent status negotiations." I believe it is largely understood to mean that any unilateral attempt to resolve the conflict through legal means, outside of negotiations is illegal? It comes up when discussing the international recognition of the State of Palestine. In the article: "International recognition of the State of Palestine" the Oslo Accords are mentioned 7 times, I think the recognition of the State of Palestine, should be at least mentioned once in this article as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A10:8012:7:69F6:DDBF:96F8:5903:8248 (talk) 13:09, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
