Regarding speedy deletion

[edit]

Oscar Blandi is notable due to his great influence in the hair styling industry and is often regarded as an expert in the field and featured on television and within many publications. His client list, as well as appearances and press list, makes him more than notable. Additionally, his dry shampoo has sparked great excitement in the hair styling world [1]. Further, Frederic Fakkai, another notable hair stylist, has a much less informative page. Ted Gibson is another celebrity hairstylist who has a page, and his contains even less information.

I'm removing the speedy delete notice, because it appears that after some work this article could sufficiently describe why Blandi is notable. In order to do that, you'll have to cite reliable, secondary sources that discuss the subject, beyond the mere mention of his name (which appears to be what much of the secondary sources here are limited to). The citation you give above is not a reliable source, as it is a website selling Blandi's product, and qualifies as spam. Did Blandi develop the product, or simply attach his name to it? Note that both of those situations could be used to establish notability, but it would be good to differentiate in the article for the sake of interest. As for your argument mentioning other stylists, please see WP:OTHERSTUFF as to why this tact should be avoided. In addition, please check out the conflict of interest guidelines. I am concerned that you may have a conflict of interest with Blandi, as much of your original post seemed occupied with promoting Blandi, his salon and his products. I've removed the most recent additions to the External links, as they all fail to meet the standards set out in WP:EL. However, one of these links, [1], could be integrated as a reference, so I'm listing it here. Steamroller Assault (talk) 19:44, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
