Article name
[edit]Hi, João! Seems you had the same idea as me... but beat me to it ;) But I'm taking the chance while it's a fresh article to know if you think the article should be renamed to "Os Grandes Portugueses" as it is written on it's website . Parutakupiu talk || contribs 00:41, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
If it is in the page, it must be written "Os Grandes Portugueses" Nuno Raimundo 22:23, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
The Salazar controversy - let's stick to the facts
[edit]Salazar's nomination as the greatest portuguese is an admitedly controversial topic. I suggest we abstain of stating opinions on that. Let's stick to the facts and keep interpretations to ourselves. With time, as interpretations from reliable sources show up, we can address those. With that in mind, I just cleaned up the text in that regard. --koenige 01:45, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- Well, the right and the left cannot never agree on this one.
- I have changed it again, to now a more moderate version. Not just a left wing tending one posing as moderate.
- A lot of the stuff that had been left in is not ackowledged as a fact for the whole population. We can keep changing each others stuff until doomsday, but no one will come out winning.
- Salazar was a hero or a villain. The opinions have long been formed. But we can keep it moderate.
- I think this version is a moderate one. I have left opinions I DO NOT AGREE WITH. Lets try and keep the drama and inflated language out of it.
- And yes, I do read history books and also know the country well, including the benefits and faults of Estado Novo.
- Perhaps this page should be locked for a week or so... I've asked it at the portuguese version because there was fight with the word "fascista" (a user removed it, another added it, and so on), and I think it was the best decision to avoid the vandalism... For the number of editions of today maybe that's the most wise and troublless decision (at least until this settles down)... IMHO... Crazy Murdoc 23:06, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
