References for Past and Present Notable Residents
[edit]While difficult to do outside of using the Whitepages or for pay services like Realquest (which I have), it is possible to find articles that display proof that these people do or have lived in Ortega. Some of these sources also provide other very sensitive information (like exact address, campaign contributions, income, family details, etc). Is it really necessary to provide proof of living here? People, come on, every neighborhood Wiki article has a section for notable residents and without providing detailed proof. I grew up in the neighborhood literally down the street from some of these people (all I want to do is make the neighborhood public, as well other neighbrohoods, and alum of notable residents is a cool thing, we don't have to know more than who they are/were and what they do/did).
You other editors (who probably have no affiliation with the neighborhood) can take down whatever. I will probably put information back up. I haven't noticed anyone else editing this page aside from me, so what do you care??

- Any information included in an article is expected to be verifiable to reliable sources. If none can be found, the information should not be included. Personally, I don't think such lists add very much to an article anyway.
- Good work with the rest of the article, by the way, it's a definite improvement.--Cúchullain t/c 13:40, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
Move
[edit]I've moved the article per the request. After the rewrite the article discusses more than the historic district itself.--Cúchullain t/c 14:53, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
Another move
[edit]In order to get some consistency in how Jacksonville neighborhood articles are titled, I propose we move this article to Ortega (Jacksonville). In short, while the "comma convention" (ie, "Ortega, Jacksonville") is common, the parenthetical is more common in articles on Florida neighborhoods. Jacksonville neighborhoods are inconsistent, but as we're seeing so much work on them recently I think we need to make them consistent now to avoid issues down the road.--Cúchullain t/c 18:23, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
