[edit]It is a very rough draft. Feel free to improve it. Orme Dam was cancelled in 1981 near Phoenix Arizona. There was a fight between the interests of 350-550 native americans and the people of Phoenix (approximately a million people). The project was eventually cancelled because endangered Bald Eagles nested in the area during the winter. Many articles were written in the Arizona Republic newspaper, but it is behind a paywall to access. I might decide to pay to get proper references if you think it is worth it.
