Incompleteness - there is nothing that I can find in any of the usual reference books (Scots or English) apart from F C Grant's mention (Manual of heraldry 1924, p 12). As far as I can see anything more would need to be researched at Lyon Court and very few folk are handily placed for that. I have therefore removed the incompleteness tag. - Yes, exactly. That is why the incomplete tag is there. Eventually someone with the relevant information will come along and then the tag could be remove. However until then it is our duty to inform others (especially lay readers) that the article is not complete and at the same time invite them (if they can) to complete it. Our research issues should not be in the article itself (which concerns the office) but here at the talk page. Anyway if there is any information it is probably here: Court of the Lord Lyon,: List of His Majesty's officers of arms and other officials with genealogical notes, 1318-1945, But I could not get hold of a copy.
