Merger proposal
[edit]I suggest merging ORIX Auto Leasing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. into this article, because there is not enough information about the leasing company to merit its own article. As the subsidiary's page has a promotional tone, this would involve editing its content. We could also take the opportunity to remove phrases such as our value-added services, which might suggest a conflict of interest. Certes (talk) 11:07, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
Merger now done. Most of the original page was promotional content matching the company's own website, so I reduced it to a summary in the merged article. As so little original content remains, I don't think we need {{copied}}. Certes (talk) 12:04, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
Why is Shinzo Abe mentioned in the "see also" section?
[edit]I'd love to learn more about the connection between the two. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.248.248.1 (talk) 17:05, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
Requested move 03 June 2016
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: not moved per WP:SNOW. The proposed new title violates the MOS:TM guideline which pretty much guarantees that such a move would not happen. SSTflyer 16:44, 4 June 2016 (UTC)
Orix → ORIX – formal company name is allcaps; ORIX currently directs to Orix – OsFish (talk) 05:01, 3 June 2016 (UTC)

- @OsFish: But is it an acronym? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:39, 3 June 2016 (UTC)
- Reply to @OsFish: Is it really an acronym. If yes, what is it? If no, then I will oppose this request because this follows the MOS:TM. j3j3j3...pfH0wHz 08:43, 3 June 2016 (UTC)
- Here's the explanation of the name. Does it count? (I was responding to a request posted by someone who works for ORIX.) OsFish (talk) 01:24, 4 June 2016 (UTC)
- The explanation link says that this name Orix is a portmanteau of "original" and "x", where the "x" is used to mean "infinity". Anthony Appleyard (talk) 08:22, 4 June 2016 (UTC)

Original name
[edit]This article as well as the company's website state that the original name of the company, in 1964, was Orient Leasing Co., Ltd. Was this the official name? Isn't it a Japanese company? Bever (talk) 11:45, 3 November 2016 (UTC)
