fish are kind of not good i like them not —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.118.51.9 (talk) 00:41, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The section on water purification is vague and misleading. You talk about what plants are good at what depths, but very little about what they do to purify the water. Also, you say that several of them are the best option, but they can't all be the best option. Paul Layne (talk) 23:30, 21 September 2011 (UTC)Paul Layne[reply]

Proposed move

[edit]

This rather unsatisfactory article also has an unsatisfactory name. I propose to move it to Organisms involved in water purification to make it clear that it is both organisms actively used and those which are very much involved but which arrive with the waste stream or from the atmosphere or soil. Any objections please note them here. Thanks.  Velella  Velella Talk   22:38, 2 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the heading for this article is unsatisfactory. In fact, the whole field, including "ponding", "stabilization pond" and "phytopurification" and related entries, should be grouped under a single entry, "Phytosanitation", an environmentally friendly approach to clarifying and recycling waste water. The French languages uses "phytopurification" which is appropriate to water purification but might exclude other possible uses. Prichardsong (talk) 09:47, 24 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

very strange and weird article, no chapter on bacteria/fungi?

[edit]

This article is weird, there is almost no attention to the bacteria/fungi used to clean water. Garnhami (talk) 19:11, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please feel free to add appropriate and well sourced text. Bacteria I would concur with and phages too as orgamisms contolling bacterial overgrowth. Fungi however are more enigmatic and I would be intrigued to read well sourced information on their use.  Velella  Velella Talk   21:46, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Garnhami -I have started a section on Bacteria. Please feel free to add and expand.  Velella  Velella Talk   08:51, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
