About Cleanup/Rewrite template added on the top

[edit]

Will someone (specifically a historian or official personnel) of the Oregon State University Bands help out or at least clean this page up? I find that this article is largely inconsistent, contains large amounts of outdated or missing information, and needs major clean-up in terms of grammar and organization from head to toe, inside and out. I've personally tried doing the bulk of the work but as it is, I don't have all the information in the world about OSUMB (especially about the history of it, and considering that I am one of the current members of it) to put down all the details of it. Not to mention the amount of time that I have in conjunction to the amount of time it takes to completely satisfy the updating requirements of this encyclopedia. Thanks! --Mr. DM (talk) 10:17, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and deleted the article, leaving just a couple sentences (still unsourced) to serve as a stub for future expansion. ---Another Believer (Talk) 00:11, 27 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I've put up a template because I will be editing this page. Because I am busy, edits may happen on and off. If you would like to add some information, feel free to do so, but please refrain from removing the template that I've put up because I will be putting a lot of information and I will be doing a lot of related research on this article. Thanks! --Mr. DM (talk) 20:21, 23 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I am changing the claim that the OSU band is the oldest in the Pac-10, as USC is 10 years older (1880). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.193.41.104 (talk) 06:17, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The above is wrong as USC was not founded in 1880. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.160.80.161 (talk) 09:45, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, USC opened its doors in 1880. OCNative (talk) 02:13, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Please stop editing this page OCNative. Since you obviously don't know the facts. Please google Oldest band in the Pac-10. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.160.80.161 (talk) 01:09, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Wrong. Just wrong. USC's Band's website says that they were founded the same year as the University, 1880.
The BAND yes. The MARCHING BAND, no. OSU had the same type of "military band" as USC did well before it ever was associated with athletics as well. OSU's Marching Band is the oldest Band from within the conference band programs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.169.211.39 (talk) 00:54, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
