[edit]This article has no sources. I am protestant and we refer to baptism and the eucharist as Holy Sacraments.. 74.167.245.190 (talk) 02:59, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
Modifications
[edit]User:ServB1, despite being told to stop doing this on other articles, you have continued to replace specific Christian denominational traditions with the generic term "Evangelical Christianity". I am pinging User:Ltwin and User:Walter Görlitz to have a look here too. There are evangelical Christian traditions, such as Methodists and Anglicans, who prefer to use the term "sacrament", not "ordinance". To say that all evangelical Christians use the term "ordinance" is therefore inaccurate and misleading. Thanks, AnupamTalk 03:22, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
- The comment by the anonymous IP above corroborates my point about associating this term with all evangelical traditions. AnupamTalk 03:25, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
- @ServB1: your additions looked OK, but problems with formatting appear again. The expunging of other traditions is problematic. Any comments? Have you done this to other, similar articles? Walter Görlitz (talk) 03:48, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
- User:Walter Görlitz, for example, see these edits, which give the impression that all evangelicals shun liturgical worship and that Protestants worship in "temples". The previous version was much better. AnupamTalk 04:06, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
- Hello User:Walter Görlitz and User:Anupam. Before User:Anupam rolled back the improvements and the addition of references, the text said: “In Evangelical churches adhering to the doctrine of the believers' Church”. There was indeed the precision “adhering to the doctrine of the believers' Church”. For the use of the word temple for evangelicals, it is very common in French, but I will not use it in English, as it is less common. User:Walter Görlitz seems to be saying that except for formatting, the enhancements with references were warranted. I will therefore follow his recommendations. Thanks for your help. --ServB1 (talk) 01:53, 15 November 2020 (UTC)
