Orchestre Symphonique de Québec → Quebec Symphony Orchestra —
As Montreal orchestra is known worldwide with english name, I don't see why Québec should have this page in french. Same goes for Sherbrooke and Trois-Rivières. La version française donne déjà uniquement la référence en français, donc la langue ne se perd pas selon moi et la liste des orchestres canadiens est maintenant bilingue.— Preceding unsigned comment added by UncivilFire (talk • contribs)
- Oppose move - the orchestra's website, even the English language pages [1], uses OSQ and "Orchestre Symphonique de Québec", so that is its most common name and the appropriate article title. Redirects from English versions, and alternative capitalisations and missing accents, are all useful - will leave note at User talk:UncivilFire about this. PamD (talk) 16:09, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- Weak Support A straight google search of articles in English produces 11,200 hits for Orchestre Symphonique de Québec[2] and 101,000 for Quebec Symphony Orchestra[3]. However, A Google books search in English returns more hits for Orchestre Symphonique de Quebec[4] than Quebec Symphony Orchestra [5]. The French and English name are often used side by side in Canada and the French name is used in English domestically but I have doubts it's the same internationally.--Labattblueboy (talk) 18:01, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose I think maintaining the original name and the acronym logic causes little pain, nor does the burden of "Quebec Symphony Orchestra" being a swift redirect. deMURGH talk 20:06, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose generally groups--particularly classical--are reference by there native name. --emerson7 20:26, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
