Page move / spelling

I moved this page, because France Télécom seems to be the official spelling. I'm now fixing up links... Shinobu 01:11, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Since many international users may not be familiar with the French spelling, I will a) advice everyone to keep the redirect in place and b) explain in the article that France Télécom is the French spelling, and France Telecom the international spelling.

Incidentally, some pages apparently used the French spelling for the link text, while retaining the old article name for the link itself.

I hope that these few edits have solved that problem and have cleared up any possible questions. Shinobu 01:53, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Just like you justly remarked France Télécom bears accents when it's name is used in a French text. However, when "France Telecom" is added to the logo, it gains an international dimension and therefore bears no accents.

France Telecom is the official spelling even in France (another FT employee) and has been since 1993:

Newspaper Le Monde writes France Télécom with accents: http://www.lemonde.fr/economie/article/2012/07/06/suicides-chez-france-telecom-l-ancien-numero-deux-mis-en-examen_1730309_3234.html. British newspaper The Times also writes it with accents, although I can't provide a link since you need to be logged in to view articles. However, you can go to The Times' web site http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/news/ and do a search on "France Telecom", and you'll see on the headlines that are returned that they accentuate it also. Hello, the "Service quality and connection availability" section looks like a competitor negative ad... With of course not a single source to support such negative claims. The fact that some see the reports as negative reflect actual negative situations. These can all be documented, documented information is not biased, it is a statement of fact. To deliberately be sold 8mb when the seller KNOWS its only good for .8 is wrong, and factual!!

To remove the factual but negative reflections on FT means that only the positive remain so in FT's case should one totally remove its wikepedia comments. It is also factual that a large percentage of FT clients are really hacked off. In fact to date have not found one favourable client comment even from employees. I have gotten the following from contractors, they do not even read their own instructions and wonder why stuff does not work. Show me ONE client who is happy with FT / Orange. Just 1 thats all just one here in France. I would treat him to a dinner with perhaps a million others who are not. Incidentally I have no router modem complainants on private boxes apart from one that failed just after being set up.
