Spam?
[edit]Founded in 2000, optionsXpress is a prominent, publicly traded (OXPS) and has over 220,000 customers. optionsXpress has been the top ranked online broker in at least one personal finance outlet since 2002, and has received the top star ranking in the annual Barron's online broker review for five years in a row. Its executives are regularly quoted in top-tier outlets, such as the NYT, CNBC and Wall Street Journal.
Looks like spam to me. Also, look at the sock puppets doing the edits in the history. CompRhetoric 12:33, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
- er, actually, notability is established in previous edits that were wiped. Need to restore back to [[1]] CompRhetoric 12:45, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

- I did not create OptionsXpress. If you check the article history here, you will see that I placed the original db tag. By the time I removed the tag here, the Co.'s notability had been established. The article has since been vandalized, and the notability-establishing refs. have been removed. Perhaps you should pay more attention to what you are doing. --Evb-wiki 14:20, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
Notability
[edit]Regardless of who added what text and whether or not they had a conflict of interest, this is a widely written-about company.

added link to Open ECry
[edit]I've added a sentence about last year's acquisition of Open E-Cry. Full disclosure, I am associated with OptionsXpress. I work with User:Mike oX, who also is associated with OX and helping him craft content that meets policy. Any concerns? Ronnotel (talk) 15:54, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit]I think notability is established within the article.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 02:28, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
external links
[edit]Can someone please explain why links to this company's main web sites are considered "link spam". The company is certainly notable - and as such it's entirely reasonable to link to the company's website. Please don't delete these without discussion. Ronnotel (talk) 21:09, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
- Linking to your main company website is one thing, linking to every website you own to gain PR is another. 24.148.16.230 (talk) 13:15, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- Then let's leave the main company website on the page Ronnotel (talk) 14:10, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
