Mathematical derivation
[edit]I felt that the section Mathematical derivation was very unclear and badly formatted, so I removed it to minimize confusion. Here is the removed content:
n=c/v=λ/λ° where c-speed of light in vacuum, v -speed of light in medium,λ-wavelength in vacuum,λ°-wavelength in medium similarly n=d/d° d-distance traveled by light in vacuum in time t,d°-distance traveled by light in medium in time t
multiply both side by d° hence d=n*d° is the optical path
