Proposed deletion

[edit]

I am myself the one who noted that the article must be improvded: there are lots of lopsided assertions ("opinion needs balancing"), opinions without references or assertions without attribution, and dead links. It must be rephrased and improved, especially in terms of references.

However, as the guidelines state that I may delete the propose deletion box if I object to it "for any reason", I deleted it because I am familiar with Sudan and the subject, and can confirm that she is indeed, very probably, Sudan's most prominent western journalist. This meets WP:BIO. The article simply has to be improved so that the notability, i.e. her status as a prominent journalist in Sudan, becomes more clear.--Banguicalling (talk) 13:38, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I believe you, so, although I should actually take this to WP:AfD, I won't for the time being, and will look for references myself. Relata refero (talk) 13:44, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot. Yes, I should do that too, I am kind of busy now. But I can see 37,000+ Goggle results for her, including the New Tork Times, Washington Post, and of course Reuters whom she works for. Some are her own work, while others are about her work. The article badly needs to be improved, but I really think she is more than notable under WP:BIO.--Banguicalling (talk) 16:41, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Right now, this article has 3 links that lead to it. How many does it need before it's no longer an orphan? Thanks! Geekdiva (talk) 21:51, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
