Copyedit
[edit]Lead sentence
[edit]The lead sentence here was changed to read "Operation Double Impact (German: Der Betrieb Doppelschlag)" under the edit summary “copyedit”. I don’t quite see the relevance of that, but I’ve reverted the change anyway as it is completely incorrect.
First, foreign military operations generally keep their native names, rather than a translation; in this case, it was referred to by the source as "Operation Doppelschlag", not “Operation Double Impact”. I've added the source, for clarity.
Second, whilst Doppelschlag can be rendered “Double Blow”, or “Double Impact”, or even “Double Whammy”, the version used by the source is “Double Blow”, so we really ought to stick with that.
Third, “Der Betreib...” may be the German word for “operation”, but it isn’t correct in this instance; the term used for military operations in German is “Unternehmen”. In any case it is redundant now. Xyl 54 (talk) 22:35, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
ISBN
[edit]Also, the Schofield source was listed as "ISBN (none)" for a reason; as it was written in 1964 it doesn’t have one. Putting "ISBN (none)" makes that clear, while deleting it only makes it look as if the editor didn’t know, or couldn’t be bothered to put it in, and will inevitably lead to a succession of future editors wasting their time trying to find it and add it. So I’ve reverted that too. Xyl 54 (talk) 22:38, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
