Lead and infobox
[edit]- "Highway 78 was established in 1938" → the meaning of this is not exactly clear. From the infobox it can be ascertained that the road opened in May of this year, so perhaps this could be reworded to reflect that.
- I usually try to keep specific dates out of the lede, but since this highway doesn't have a tumultuous history, I suppose it can have the month added.
- I ask because I genuinely don't know - is the use of past tense in the lead (King's Highway 78...was a provincially...") as opposed to the present tense because the highway technically does not exist anymore? Of course, the road itself is still there, which would lead me to use of the present tense, but the fact that it does not go by that name anymore, and is controlled not by the province of Ontario but rather by Chatham-Kent would lead me to the past tense.
- You got it, this is exactly the case.
- In the image caption in the infobox, the inclusion of "in red" seems redundant to me since there are colorboxes below that showing the colors used for the road and the bypassed segments. Is there a reason to keep both?
- Agreed, done.
- The road's current name is not mentioned directly in the body of the article and is not sourced.
- Done.
Route description
[edit]All good.
History
[edit]- "The roadway was paved circa 1920." → MOS:CIRCA notes that the use of {{circa}} is preferred to the spelled out word "circa"
- Seems backwards to the normal use of abbreviations, but fair enough. Done.
- "The concept was met with approval from" → add bolded word
- Done.
- "by Minister of Highways, George Doucett, on November..." → either remove commas around George Doucett or add "the" before "Minster of Highways"
- I went with adding "the"
- "was approved by the town council" → add bolded word
- Done.
- "A temporary bailey bridge was erected upstream" → link Bailey bridge and capitalize "Bailey"
- Done.
- "with the temporary bailey bridge removed the following week" → capitalize "Bailey"
- Done.
Major intersections
[edit]- Add citation after second sentence.
- Done.
