Is Advertising Tag still warranted?

[edit]

In reaction to the addition of the Advertising tag, I reworded a handful of sentences that to me had the feeling that they were from a product datasheet.

For example, I changed the opening sentence from "Onshape is a full-featured, cloud-based 3D CAD software system" to "Onshape is a professional-caliber 3D CAD software system delivered over the Internet via a Software as a Service (SAAS) model."

I believe I have expunged the promotional copywriter vibe from it. Can others review and either suggest further edits, or – if you feel the promotional vibe has been eliminated – can you delete the Advertising tag? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skydog10291971 (talkcontribs) 16:05, 4 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Feb 7: I intend to remove Advertising Tag from article

[edit]

Recent edits have stripped most of the information about Onshape and the CAD market it competes in. What remains now is a generic description of its uniqueness as a cloud-based CAD system, a factual history of the company, and a statement of its funding.

I feel that the Advertising Tag is unquestionably no longer warranted, but as the original author of the page, will not do this unilaterally without feedback from other editors. I plan to remove the tag after a few weeks as no longer apropos. If others feels that this move on my part would be a mistake, either correct the entry, or let me know why – based on the content of the entry – why this would be a mistake. In other words, saying "You can't do it because you're the original author" doesn't strike me as a valid reason not to; I am simply interested in the entry being accurate – and as such, more motivated than other editors to assure that the article is not corrupted by out-of-date tags.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Skydog10291971 (talkcontribs) 2017-02-07T16:42:14 (UTC)

Operating systems in infobox

[edit]

The list of operating systems in the infobox is misleading. Onshape does not run on Linux, OSX, or Windows. Onshape runs in a browser on any operating system with WebGL, including those. It also runs as a native application on iOS and Android. Vox Sciurorum (talk) 13:09, 4 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
