What is "efforts in semiconductor"?
[edit]Regarding:
- "... based on the company’s efforts in semiconductor"
How can a company have "efforts in semiconductor"? What does it mean?
--Mortense (talk) 20:18, 3 March 2018 (UTC)
- It was just bad corpospeak writing (and a tautology, like saying a dog show winner won for its success in being a dog). I have endeavoured to make it marginally less bad, by deleting it. -- Finlay McWalter··–·Talk 15:19, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
American Microsystems, Inc
[edit]American Microsystems, Inc. redirects here, but there's no mention of it in the article. Was it acquired by OnSemi? If so, when? -- Finlay McWalter··–·Talk 15:16, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
Remarks on title of article and acquisitions section
[edit]If the company is called "onsemi" then this entry should be spelled in the same way.
Every entry in the acquisitions section that calls for "onsemi" up to August of 2021 is anachronistically incorrect. The company until then was called ON Semiconductor" so, for consistency and correctness, should be called just like that.
The last two entries in the same section are not written in proper English.
