[edit]I read again, Enele Ma'afu or in our family we refer to him, Ma'afu'o Tu'itonga/ Ma'afu. From my early childhood, I always informed about, my great-great grandfather,Namoa who later became, King Siosaia Tupou 1830-45 , documented the special event of,birth of his great nephew, Taufa'ahau.
I was informed, that the first message of the birth of Taufa'ahau, was taken by the messenger, to the Lau Groups, Fiji, to Namoa, in 1806. The message was from Taufa'ahau's father, Tupouto'a and stated, " Namoa, the special nginingini, has awake on birth". (Nginingini means spirit and awake on birth is, ofolanga).
Namoa named the islands across from where he was staying during his visit: Ono i Lau (Six in Lau), the next island, as: Ofolanga (Fulanga). It was a confirmation of the year and place where Taufa'ahau was borned, and he did receive the message. As you may have known that Ofolanga, was the birth place, of Taufa'ahau in Ha'apai.
I never been to Fiji, and not sure whether the names still existed, until I read again, Ma'afu's history on wikipedia, and realised that Ono i Lau exists. My view if, Ono i Lau exists so as Ofolanga or Fulanga in Fijian. As to my knowledge, that the style of record, used by the Tu'i Kanokupolu dynasty, was to document by naming the exact locations where the event occurs, or names on their children/ on exact family member who achieved the objective(s).—Preceding unsigned comment added by Lolopapalangi (talk • contribs)
