Hi @Hemiauchenia -- I added some of the paleontological context to this page because a new study was released last week and a more thorough explainer for any visitors seemed useful. Why did you remove / what can I improve about that section if we restore it? Braines123 (talk) 19:17, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Because the formatting was atrocious. You also added "citation needed" tags to things verified by the cited source, showing that you hadn't bothered to properly read the ref. Hemiauchenia (talk) 19:38, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok! I'll work up a draft -- are you willing to review it before I make the edit? Braines123 (talk) 19:54, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, okay, I see your most recent edit. Thanks for doing that! Looks good to me.
I'm going to replace "According to paleontologist Julia Sankey, the salmon did not possess spike teeth throughout its life; the fish developed the teeth as it transitioned from life in the ocean to fresh water" with "The salmon's spike teeth grew in size as it transition from life in the ocean to fresh water."
And then change the citation to the actual paper that article refers to – the current cited article incorrectly states the results of the paper, which can be found here: https://escholarship.org/uc/item/84g0595b#main Braines123 (talk) 21:20, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
