Are we entirely sure about the origin of this film being USA? It's quite obviously shot in Melbourne, Australia, and several of the production companies are Australian.. The generally accepted authority on this sort of thing these days is the Internet Movie Data Base (imdb.com). According to them funding and production were done in Australia, but with Showtime (an American cable/satellite film distribution network) as one of the production companies, making it a USA-Australia co-production.loupgarous (talk) 21:06, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Plot

This plot needs to be re-written. It should outline the plot of this film only. Differences between the novel and an earlier film should be noted in a separate section. The plot summary is inaccurate. It states that the USS Charleston journeyed first to San Francisco, then to Anchorage, Alaska, to investigate a mysterious satellite transmission. It was the other way around.
