The denomination "Derby du Rhône" is completely incorrect. Its very recent use by some french journalists and papers that surely prefer simplicity to correctness is not sufficient to establish any legitimity.
Please fix this.
See the french version of the wiki page (including the page 'discussion = talk')for correct terms and comments. The french version is probably the result of discussions between Saint-Etienne Lyon fans and as such, certainely as correct and acceptable as possible.

Writing from France, I have to say NOBODY in the St. Etienne/Lyons area actually calls this match the "derby du rhône". It's just called "Le Derby" ('the Derby') because basically this has always been the only football rivalry in France that could sort of be looking like derbies from football countries such as England, Spain or Italy. You should never forget that France hasn't much of a club football history -for instance the French "clasico" (Paris SG- Marseilles) was "created" by a pay-per-view TV channel in the early 1990s... The Paris media only came with the name "derby du Rhône" a mere decade ago, using the Rhône river tag in an inept attempt at echoing legendary confrontations such as the Tyne and Wear Derby or the Merseyside Derby. (I guess) Only the Rhône River runs a distant 25 miles from St. Etienne... And St. Etienne isn't in the "département du Rhône" either. Trouble is the Paris media rule the country, so that in the end we, a.k.a. "the locals", have to put up with this totally inane denomination now. Please consider calling this article the "St. Etienne/ Lyons Derby" as "Derby du Rhône" is nothing but an eyesore to both St. Etienne and Lyons fans. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.196.28.142 (talk) 16:11, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
I concur. We definitely should consider changing the article's name. Maybe by calling a vote? Alexandre Hocquet (talk) 16:29, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
