Perhaps mention should be made of how the Commons proposal to relax the smoking ban were (as I understand) almost universally defeated, though with some concessions for completely separated rooms for addicts).
I think a further truth is that it is difficult to find out how many other hospitality events (and probably dinners) for MPs Japan Tobacco and other major names in that field gave as little rewards for those who sided with them.
