READ BEFORE EDITING
[edit]Hi everyone, before I you read this passage, I want to tell you that none of this is meant to be mean or rude. I don't mean to offend ANYONE. Okay, so I am the editor who posted this article on the "All articles needing copy-edit" backlog, assuming that my counterparts at the Guild of Copy Editors would edit this article accordingly.
Really what I'm trying to say is that if you're going to edit this article, only edit if you have a proficient understanding in the English Language, OR have experience on this subject.
Once again, I really don't want to be rude or mean, but if you aren't proficient in the English language (can speak, and understand English well) as well as have no experience in this particular subject, I personally thank you for your interest in this article, but you will not be needed. Thanks for your interest in making the internet just a little bit better, and once again, I apologize if any offense was taken. CharlieM1021 (talk) 17:22, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
Boundaries Disagreement
[edit]The United States Census Bureau and Orange County disagree on the borders of Olive. Reference:
- Census Bureau map of Orange, CA [1]
- OC Public Works: Orange County City Boundaries [2]
(Note: Google Maps seems to display the boundaries published by the county here. The county shows the strip of land on E Buena Vista Ave between Magnolia Ave and Olive Ave as unincorporated Orange County (thus the county island of Olive), whereas the Census Bureau Map shows two discontinuous sections of unincorporated area, with that middle strip being a part of the city of Orange. Note: The Census maps are from the 2020 census, and the county boundaries were published in 2018 so something could have changed in that time, but I still don't know which to trust for the time being. At the moment, the article has the area listed as the area from the county-defined boundaries because you are able to select Olive's specific parcel[note 1] to get area data, which isn't possible on the Census Data site.
